I tried to shape a knife bevel on a bench grinder, but I guess I lack the skill, the jigs, or the knowhow. Anyway, it was a good learning experience.

  • a few months ago i lost the feeling in my fingers on my right hand do to an accident.. If i came up with a design and got the material.. would would someone like yourself charge to forge, grind, shape, and sharpen a knife....

also is that a tactiakilt... looks like one that John Fitzen wears

  • @hawkdlb06 Bummer about your hand. I hope you recover quickly. As to your project, send me a PM and we can discuss it. And I don't know who John Fitzen is, but what I'm wearing in this video is a Utilikilt brand kilt. It's tough as a rock and has a bunch of pockets and tool loops...great for shop work.

  • its called a belt grinder but good job so far

  • @abcdefg82264 The thing with the spinny wheels that shoots sparks all over? Bench grinder. The thing in the background with the "belt" of sandpaper? Belt grinder.

  • @ninja6kid Sorry, man. I'm straight. You'll have to troll somewhere else if you're looking for a man-date.

  • @streetlegal15 Ah...I get it :) Sorry for snapping. I wear the kilt because it's comfortable, because I'm Scottish by heritage, and because it's "different". And because when I got out on the town wearing it, invariably some drunk chick will try to put her hand up the kilt to see what I'm wearing underneath!

  • are you (and everybody) using zink for the handlerivets?

  • Wearing a skirt and a pink shirt. Your balls must get carpet burns when you walk around your house.

  • hey Mate I like ya skirt??? was it home maded or store brough? I'm not meaning to sound rude I'm just wondering thats all.. and I like the clip too.

  • Makermook- Been watching and learning.. I'm 46, but have been living in apartments until the last 5 or 6 years.. got 7 acres now.. I always wanted to forge.. I'm collecting tools and knowledge now. It's great that you document your progress and learning experiences, your triumphs as well as your not so triumphant results. Seriously, that is awesome.. So thank you.

  • @maestrocup LOL! Yeah, kilts and ladders have probably never been a popular combination! hahaha

  • I totally love that kilt! I've never seen one designed for craftsman. Unfortunately I work on roofs sometimes and I don't think the boss would appreciate it... LOL
