VSTi audio demo - Wave Simulator 2.2 / SQ8L / OP-X free

This is a short audio demo of 3 VSTi synthesizer plug-ins simulating famous synthesizers. Back then you would have paid thousands of dollars for such a setup. Today their virtual clones are available for free!!!

- Hermann Seib Wave 2.2 Simulator (PPG Wave 2.2)

Patch: Prog. 01

- Buchty & Kullmann SQ8L (Ensoniq SQ-80)

Patch: A102 "Prophet"
(Seems like we are actually simulating the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 here!)

- Sonicprojects OP-X free (Oberheim OB-X / OB-SX / OB-Xa / OB-8)

Patch: "SEM Resonance Sweep"
(With this preset patch the manufacturer tried to come close to the legendary sound used in the song "Tom Sawyer" by Rush.)


The song was composed with FL Studio 8.
Some of the internal effects were used (compressor, chorus, delay).

The Wave 2.2 bass sequence was triggered by the arpeggiator of FL studio.

The EpicVerb freeware reverb plug-in was used on the OP-X sound.

The Bass Drum is a Roland TR-626 sample.
The Shaker is a LinnDrum sample.

Sorry for the apostrophe-mistake in the start pic (correct: "plug-ins"). I didn't correct it because I didn't want to upload the video again.

This time I used the Windows Live Movie Maker instead of the good old Windows Movie Maker. It's easier to use but it didn't really convince me because a lot of setting options are missing here.

This is my first video in HD quality.

Please add "&fmt=35" (480 p), "&fmt=22" (720 p) or "&fmt=37" (1080 p) to the URL for better audio quality (without the quotation marks).

The sound of the video is slightly distorted (even in HD mode) which seems to be a result of the conversion by YouTube from .wmv into .mp4. The original video does not sound distorted at all. Sorry, folks.

If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please let me know.

TIPP: setz' den Audiopegel deines Videos vor dem Hochladen doch mal ca. 1..3 dB runter.

Das könnte die Verzerrungen etwas reduzieren. - gruss sol

Dein Vorschlag geht tendenziell in die richtige Richtung. Vermutlich muss ich bereits vor dem Rendern in FL Studio den Pegel in FL Studio geringfügig reduzieren, so dass er im (beim Rendern erzeugten) Audiofile dauerhaft bei etwas unterhalb von 0 db liegt. In meinem SLS AMG Video (mit Hardware-Synthesizern realisiert) habe ich mit einem reduzierten Normalisier-Pegel experimentiert. Das Resultat klingt echt gut.

and the OP-X is as closer as can be, in terms of digital emulation of analog.

The Hermann Seib's software is great - I use too some of his creations.

About the youtube sound problem now, I remember discussions about the not-so-good audio quality of youtube,although I have no solution to offer here, I didn't notice anything bad in the sound of the clip.

I believe it is a by-product, during the convertion proccess, in order to be played by youtube.
