This is what i used hondabond on. New diaphragms would still be perfect but at the time being i can't afford that.

Hope this shows how a CV carb works.

  • How does air push the piston thingamagig up. My carbs don't have that extra air hole in the top of the airbox side valves. Either way don't get it.

  • @BacktothenewDay well the air i pushed in was to simulate the engine sucking in air. Air rushes to the top where a vaccum is created and sucks the piston upward.

  • @KawaTriple250 nope it works good my brothers quad just had too big of tires for it.. i messed with the carb some and put it on my quad so i wasnt always having his apart and it runs great

  • @countryboyG If he put two screws through it then he created a massive vaccum leak unless he used a sealing agent. When the screws were placed through the rubber you effectively tore two holes in teh rubber diaphragm. The hondabond seals and permanently glues them to whatever.

  • @KawaTriple250 i figured out the problem, the rubber part was turning on the slide part so a mechanic i know put 2 screws in it to hold it and hit helped now it will do but quad wont idle and has a hard time going up hills i might look for a new slide for it

  • then i would say there's an vacuum leak or something. If vacuum doesn't flow into the top part of the diaphragm then the piston won't raise.

I have no idea was a bear tracker is so i can't really help you much. Plus you can only help so much from a letter or comment. You might look around for an internet forum.

  • theres no tears or holes in the diaphragm i tried putting wather around the rubber diaphragm to see if there was any leaks and no water escaped through the rubber

  • Unless you have taken the piston out of the carb and know whats wrong i can't really tell you.

My guess is there's a hole in the top of the diaphragm. vacuum is escaping causing the piston to not rise. Open the top of the carb and look for tears or holes in the rubber.

  • alright my brother has a 99 beartracker that sucks lol the slider on the carb doesnt move when you rev it up if u push the slider up while full throttle it will rev up like it should how do i fix this problem?
