In November 2008, a Taiwanese drama of Skip Beat! was announced in a press conference in Japan (Ariel Lin as Kyoko and Jerry Yan as Tsuruga Ren). But in January 2009, a few days before shooting was due to begin, Lai Cong Bi, Deputy General Manager of Gala Television (GTV) stated that the production has been postponed indefinitely due to factors such as restructure of the joint venture company in Japan and script re-write.
After going through many changes and setbacks, GTV's idol drama "Extravagant Challenge" is finally set to begin filming in March 2011. News has just been confirmed that Ivy Chen (Black & White) will play the main female lead, while popular Korean boy group Super Junior members Siwon and Donghae will be male leads.
This drama is an adaptation of the popular Japanese manga, Skip Beat!


Chen Yihan 陳意涵 (陈意涵) - Ivy Chen is an Taiwanese actress who was born in Taipei, Taiwan on November 12th, 1982. Her nicknames include Chan Chan and Chen Fa, Dafachen and is often simply called "Ivy" by English speakers.

Ivy seems perfect for the character of Kyoko and somewhat bothers me is less precious, fail to see how good an actress she is. I am also surprised because I thought she was younger than their peers, Siwon and Donghae, but she has 29 years while they are around 25 years. She looks very young for her age.

I still felt like someone like Horikita Maki more suitable for the role of Mogami Kyoko( she look so much like her in manga plus awesome acting) the Japanese people should do it. If korean should definitely be yoon eun hye or the girl from boys over flower...if have to Taiwanese then Rainie Yang or Ariel Lin!!!
