Click on Object ~> Click on Hierarchy next to Modify at the top right ~> Under Adjust Pivot choose Affect Pivot Only ~> Then under Alignment hit Center to Object o.o

This was helpful. I am used to Maya and I this helped to do exactly what I wanted in 3ds. I just wished the video would have a better quality, since I could hardly make out the options...

@jomann18 wow yes it is. did not realize it only uploaded in 360. unfortunately, i do not have the original video file anymore (which i think was around 720p). try to just look at what buttons i click. even though you cant read the text, you can still figure out how to move a pivot point by watching where the mouse goes.
i mean, unless you have your ui configured differently
