I am thinking of adopting a kitten with this condition, but i have other cats, does anyone know if these cats that have CH can give Distemper to my other cats? I really need to know this before i bring this kitten into my home. Any help would be great!

God Bless her. Sorry for your loss

well said mcnin!! she was a gorgeous cat . and as for cochoqtpartelamadre,CH cats do not suffer any more than "normal" cats, they are not in any pain, I have recently adopted a 2yr old cat who I suspect has CH (very little is known about it in the UK) and he is doing fine, to think he would have probably been needlessy destroyed when he has a good quality of life is horrifying! if someone wants to commit to looking after these cats (and theres no extra care really) then why does it bother you??

Thank you!
Wish you and your lovely cat health and many many year happy life.
And Lola...she is just waiting on the bridge under the rainbow...
Your cat is truly an amazing kitty! I plan to adopt a CH kitty because I think they give more love than healthy cats. I'm glad you gave this wonderful cat a great life for a year and I really respect you for that. Props to you!!

Thank you! I'm so glad you want to adopt one! I came across both Lola and my other CH cat, Bus, by accident. I'm not sure why, but its almost like the part of their brain that causes aloofness and restraint is absent in CH cats, because thay always seem to be the cuddliest, purringest, sweetest and most affectionate cats ever!

Does every kitten with CH develops complications? I have a 6-month old CH kitten, recued from the street. He will be adopted after 6 months. He will have to fly with a plane. So far i have not thought of that yet, but now after reading the info to this video i am a little scared...

No, not every CH kitten is like that. Lola was just a very severe case. I have another cat, the orange/white one in this video, who also has CH and he does just fine. He is almost four years old now. If the kitten is flying you probably had to have a health check by a vet for a health certificate, maybe ask your vet if they can prescribe a light sedative to reduce stress during the trip. It will be okay!

I just wanted to let everyone know, I just lost my cat "Oh!No" who had this condition tonite, He passed in his sleep. everyone said I should put him to sleep to stop his suffering, well he lived to be 18 years old and went peacefully in the only home he lived in. I believe I did the right thing. Thanks for the video.

We're sorry for your loss. Thank you, though, for giving a CH cat a long, good life. I have another cat with CH and I hope he lives to be as old as your kitty did.
