Pretty pink gift-wrapped 'Presents' are an old Harvest Moon tradition. In Rune Factory Frontier, you can make an 'Amazing Bathing Suit' at your Crafts Bench. When completed, it will be concealed in a gift-wrapped box. Here is a video showing the results of the promises of Eligible Girls to wear the Amazing Bathing Suit for you. I think you are referring to a different game perhaps. Karen does not appear in any of the Rune Factory games. She is a Harvest Moon character from Mineral Town who appears in Forget-Me-Not Valley when unlocked in HM DS/Cute DS and is a seasonal visitor (but cannot be courted) in Island of Happiness and Sunshine Islands.

Why are some people named Freyr when it is normally Raguna

My character if male always is named Freyr. If female, she is Freya. I have been writing strategy guides for Harvest Moon and Rune Factory for a number of years. In fact, the upcoming Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar will have a main Character named Freya in it.
Raguna is the default name for the main Character in the original Rune Factory DS and Rune Factory Frontier.

1 February: I haven't forgotten my promise to make a video of all the Girls in their Cute Bathing Suits but I've been very busy with Sunshine Islands and Animal Parade. RFF is a favourite of mine and I long to play it again though...
