"How does one conquer an eating disorder? Deepak explains that people with eating disorders usually have a poor self-image. They see themselves
as unlovable and unattractive. To combat this illusion, he suggests practicing
the "mirror technique" where one can look at oneself in the mirror and say "I am beautiful, I love myself, and thank you God for making me exactly
how I am"."

  • He's a practicing endocrinologist and former chief of staff of a hospital in Mass... they don't give those jobs away to people with diplomas. I agree that he has carved out a nice little industry for himself selling self help books, but it is based on a belief system (albeit one you may not yourself agree with) that is widely upheld in many cultures and intellectual circles in the field of health. Eating Disorders are first and foremost mental health issues, Chopra's career focuses upon that.

  • He looks totally healthy to me. I do not see any protruding belly. He is originally from india and a believer in ayurveda. They have a different idea about healthy weight. There are many yogis in india who is not lean and thin. Just check the book of Iyengar, the master yogi. In your eyes he will be chubby too.
