Many post are "Green Dot get out of the hood" but truth is LAUSD has failed us, and because we have a savior who's doing things different you want them to leave. Open your eyes up to the future they are just here to help. How about stop having the thuggish mindset and grow into an adult mindset. I'm thankful for Green Dot, I was making into a 4 year college regardless but I'm thankful to have been a "product" of Green Dot.

@firemeddle88 Barr is raising the question as to why do people send their kids to private schools rather than the public school? It's because the private school Is BETTER, offers a better education for students and if people that paid 20k + a year for their childs education, if that same parent chose to send their kid to a public school the public school would change because the people that can afford private schools will not take anything lower than the best.

it's changed. that's the best i can describe it. i've never actually went to the old locke but the that was one of the last places a person would choose to send their kid in. Even after they turned into Green dot my mom sent me to another school. 10th grade i transferred there because my brother WANTED to go there.The clubs are lowly funded but that can be fixed with time.

Locke was so different back then. I got in a fight over there by the baseball field I used yo be in the baseball team as well Saint baby! :) My teachers over there made me who I am today and brought be closer to achieving in life.

@mizzjanky I'm confused. How would banning private schooling create a disparity in education? Isn't Bar saying that by banning private schools everyones children will be forced to attend the same schools and therefore recieve the same education? I dont believe that banning private schools would suddenly cause all upper class parents to home school their children in "controlling the masses"?

it would be amazing if Green Dot stopped being dicks with the music programs tho...i've seen what they did to the music program at Locke first hand. i graduated in 09 and i've seen the marching band get hurt by how the school is running things. they offer a great education but they dont give the kids a good enough "incentice" for going to school. telling them that college will lead them to a good career is really not that good of an incentice. they need reasons to want to go to school everyday.

Banning private school will create a huge disparity in a proper education between the elitist and the rest of us. While our children will learn faux environmentalism population control and utopian society in their 1984 reeducation camps.
