Filmed in The Woodthorpe Hotel, Bury Old Road at the convergence of Cheetham Hill, Crumpsall and Prestwich. The Fall held the launch party for one of their LPs here. Shiftwork, I think. Or that one might have been in the now gone club where Katsouris of Bury Market fame now have their city centre base on John Dalton Street / Deansgate.

  • The bestest ever... bestest? is that a word?

  • @nath909 If it is, then it's the bestest word ever.

  • Weak offering musically and rambling video. If you are going to rely on covers, at least ensure you add something to it. Mind you hard to even get close to matching the 1974 R D Taylor offering.

  • @tokyostory88 I'll be sure to pass on the message to MES.

  • was he married to Brix?? (the girl in the vid)

  • @wpinklady Yes. He was.

    Brix!

er, on topic- love this band.

  • @strasse38 Hi - just listened to that dirge of song you mentioned (I even got to the end without turning the sound down) - thanks but no thanks! Wrong turns in life eh - at the age of 37 I have quite a few although I have never married, never claimed the dole and have no children so it's not all bad I suppose! "most people are cunts" - the most important thing anyone has ever said to me.

  • @revol148 Are you saying tropical hotdog night doesn't have a 'tune to it'? Listen, then listen harder. Then fu***ing really listen and realise you need to address the wrong turns you've taken in your life.

  • Those pop-up info windows were so prescient.

  • @frrrrrunkis yeah - true. Both the fall and Captain Beefheart are an aquired taste - on balance I prefer the former.

  • @revol148 You can wish Captain Beefheart on me all you want. Sometimes you feel like a tune, sometimes you don't.

  • @TralfamadorianRed Nice reply, mate. I'm sure MES would be absolutely heartbroken to learn that some so-and-so on Youtube didn't like this song...lol

  • @manicbabyshambles123 I wouldn't call myself a typical manics fan as I pretty much gave up with them by the mid 1990's however what's the big issue with wanting a song with a tune to it? Captain beefheart is the alternative and I wouldn't wish that on anyone!

  • @revol148 Typical manics fan.
