Her name is Kinako. She has teeth and is domestically bred. Kinako was born in a Japanese pet shop.

Descriptions say a lot of things, but that doesn't make them true. Just because an animal is in a pet shop doesn't mean it was bred there. People sell their baby hamsters to pet shops, who turn around and re-sell them as "bred in the store". That being said: they could've bought the lorises from importers, then sold them as "captive-bred" so they wouldn't be investigated.

Whether or not that's the case here, I cannot say.

But, as I DO know the state of the pet trade, I CAN say it's most likely.

Odds are, this animal WAS NOT bred in a pet shop. It's very difficult to get Lorises to breed in captivity-- even at some of the best zoos in the world.

There's a good chance this animal was taken directly from the wild, which is not only incredibly illegal, but is also done in a very horrifying and traumatic manner. (As opposed to carefully-managed acquisitions from the wild done by conservation professionals, which minimize an animal's stress as much as possible)
