Hampshire Guitar Orchestra - South Hants in HD

We're HAGO - come and visit our local countryside - pictures from South Hampshire, accompanied by HAGO live in concert, playing Elizabethan Serenade by Ronald Binge.

We're HAGO, the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra, and this is Hampshire, captured for you by Derek Hasted & his camera...

Starting at Lymington Harbour, where the New Forest meets the sea, we take you to the village of Beaulieu, though most visitors head straight for the Motor Museum and miss the tranquil beauty outside the big fence... Then we stride into the heart of the New Forest, with its myriad ponies and pathways. We head east to look down on Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. We take you to the very eastern edge of Hampshire to the coastal village of Emsworth. From there we head north to the hamlet of Privett, famous for its amazing church, known as the Cathedral on the Hill. Heading back to Rowlands Castle, we enter the Stansted Estate - managed woodland and, on the Sussex border, the magnificent Stansted House. Heading back to the South Downs we walk in the Forestry Commission lands at Buriton and explore the valley that carries the railway from Petersfield, through Finchdean on its way from London to Portsmouth. The lake at Petersfield, in the shadow of the Downs brings our little tour to an end just as the music disappears into the ether...

A typical HAGO concert is an amazing mix of strident upbeat music interspersed with gentle reflective music such as this.

Yes, that's Petersfield Lake - no camera trickery either. Those photos of the lake were all taken on 28th December - just shows how lovely winter can be if one stops and takes time to watch...
