actualy the rounder side is supposed to face the hanger. the dent is in case u have a spherical bearing, so the bushing doesn't get in the way

hey cleaning grip is ok with ur method but try using a disk sander cleaner in some hot water its alot less worse on your grip tape thumbs up so ppl know :]
