You actually need some liquid together with it for it to blend. Try putting a banana in a regular blender alone... won't work either.

Funny thing is there's kids that this blender that was designed for that know adding liquid makes it easier.. meanwhile this guy... haha

Add a liquid and cut the banana into smaller pieces and that might work
