  • One person is a Kraken.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Well, I did`t knowed that this John Carpenter's The Thing is a remake of '51. I see that you are keen on films of this genre

  • @KINO2x

I'm talking about John Carpenter's The Thing movie, a remake of 1951's The Thing from Another World

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yes, I had a videotape of this film. Very good this movie was filmed. Do not even say, this movie was filmed in 1982.

  • @KINO2x

You never saw The Thing (1982)?

  • @Johnlindsey289 But perhaps the remakes are needed because a new generation to show the same story, only this time with special effects of modern times, because they will no longer watch those old versions of the already primitive special effects

  • @Johnlindsey289 You know, the technology of 50th and 80th years of the difference was not great. I unfortunately did not watch those movies that you listed, but here are a few examples I can list 1) King Kong (1933) One Million Years BC (1966), CLASH OF THE TITANS (1981). In these films, the monsters were small dolls))) This then after Jurassic Park (1993), was a serious computer graphics!

Do you think 50's Sci-fi movies needed to be remade in the 80's? they were just hokey movies like The Thing from Another World, The Fly, Invaders from Mars, The Blob and Invasion of the Body Snatchers as the originals didn't have the technology in the 50's to execute their creatures or ideas. The 80's had better technology and improved ones, their remakes surpassed their originals and so did The Thing as the original 1951 movie was a piss-poor adaptation of the novel

  • @Johnlindsey289 I myself have not seen a movie Thor, but i looked the trailer, and I can say, that the director's idea overlaps with the of 80`s! In general, when the film industry has exhausted itself, they have to do remakes, or something like this=) But as a rule, remakes are obtained worse than the original!

  • @KINO2x

Did the movie Thor reminded you of this movie? it was like a throwback to the 80's sword and sorcery movies
