YOU SAD FUCKS WHO ARE GETTING SAD OVER THIS IS BECAUSE YOU JUST HAD TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND THAT IS WHEN YOU START HAVING ISSUES WITH YOUR OWN LIFE. SO grow a pair man. fucking grow a pair. Start travelling and see the differences between that city and ours,
Whatever it is, Singapore is a great country that needs getting used to. Other then having more laws then usual, I would gladly say that Singapore my country is a great place to live in. Look around you, there are probably the same ratio of Trees to buildings in Singapore or even more then that in the suburban areas. It really is a wonder you know, if you compare it to any other cities, the humidity level here is probably well controlled compared to HK during summer.
propaganda film. 1 sided, under the guise of documentary. And the music! Its so classic.
Alot of context and background are ignored. Poor political film that patronise the intelligence of an average Sgrean youtuber. But good that poster has the balls to open the thread for discussion.
everyone is complaining in this video, but they are living the safe life in Singapore established by PAP.. so if you dislike it so much why are you still living in Singapore?? Strong govt means better life for the people is that not correct? Them staying put in Singapore means they also acknowledge this good governing. Can you imagine having a government comprised of all the highlighted opposition members???
Should the communists not have been curtailed under the ISA as well as in Operation Coldstore, Singapore would probably be communist today. Now who would prefer that alternative? Would it be a country with much more freedom of speech?
Additionally, the fact that this video has been on youtube for one and a half years certainly shows that the government censors all media contrary to its own interests, yes?
I think you need to make a distinction between communist and socialist.
To think that the fact that we have access to this video is by merit of the Government, and even thank them so, simply shows the extent of our mental impotence -- we count our blessings that we even get to enjoy a video.
The agenda of this video is glaringly obvious, and not only does it provide big sweeping statements without ample substantiation - it just throws up names and quotes people OUT of context for their own purposes.
Certainly the people who have been imprisoned under the ISA would not say anything favourable about the PAP government, and so the lack of providing an alternative viewpoint to each one of the video's criticisms is also contributing to a grossly unconvincing one-sided argument.
It is not the video's responsibility to show an alternative viewpoint.
It is the government's responsibility to show the alternative viewpoint. Do you feel that the government is contributing to a "grossly unconvincing one-sided argument"?
All I ever wish for the goverment to do is, to help those ederly with no family support and families that are living on the margin. I know many of them have no money to even pay their utilities bill. Besides a home, water and electricity are also the most basic and essential thing that a home should have.
