This is a video of me playing this rather jazzy piece. It was composed by American composer George Gershwin and a picture is included of him at the start of the video.

Special thanks go to Joanna for editing the video.

    Love this piece

  • thanks...:)

  • My friend Emily plays this song kick ass, you do it almost as good, which is saying something!.

  • well, thanks moiraine.

luganskymichelangeli: I never did e-mail John Davis about the sheet music and I haven't even really done any more searching for them. Do let me know if you get any news on them though.

  • Yeah, and you have really awesome hands too. Like, I want to marry your hands. :P Kick ass piano too--is it your's?

  • thanks :) - the piano isn't actually mine, it is the Universities..it's not perfect to play on though: it has one or two dodgy notes.

  • GREAT JOB!!! amazing that you could keep the same fast speed though!

  • YES!!! first one with the right speed!! and great interpretation too. thank you!!!!! :D

  • your name matches your fingers :P vivace.....

  • Great job on that scale, did you use the pedal on the scale to quiet it or was that technique? That is the part I'm struggling with the most, the mode at the end.

  • ahh the first one on a decent speed. gershwin would twist in his grave when seeing the others playing it so slow.

well you could straighten the tempo at the end though, ... you start to "run".

    check mine out! ;)

    cheers

  • Very good. I would definitely consider slowing it down a little. I sounds like your in an actual performance, so I understand the part that nerves play. I would slow it down and keep a more regular rhythm. It makes the syncopated parts so much more exciting and surprising when you do have a little more control. I fixing to perform this piece in like 30minutes for a college Piano Jury. So I do understand the piece quite well. But great job, especially on the scale at the end. Excellent!

  • lol... hi, moiraine, dear. agree wholeheartedly.
