While in conversation with New Yorker magazine's Seymour Hersh, Mr. Ritter criticizes the Bush administration for its claims that Iran is a major threat, and insists there are no production facilities to bomb. This event was hosted by the New York Society for Ethical Culture in New York City. About Scott Ritter: Served as a United Nations weapons inspector in Iraq 1991 to 1998. He is the author of "Iraq Confidential: The Untold Story of the Intelligence Conspiracy to Undermine the UN and Overthrow Saddam Hussein," "Frontier Justice: Weapons of Mass Destruction and the Bushwhacking of America," "War on Iraq: What Team Bush Doesn't Want You to Know" and "Endgame: Solving the Iraq Problem - Once and For All." About Seymour Hersh: An American Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist and author based in Washington, DC. He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker magazine on military and security matters. His work first gained worldwide recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. His 2004 reports on the US Military's treatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison gained much attention. In 2006 he reported on the US military's plans for Iran, which allegedly called for the use of nuclear weapons against that country.

  • Many people don't know about this stuff, so we added it to our Iraq project.

    War with Iran is still looming and Ritter expects the war to start late 2008 or 2009.
