@PrrrromotionGiven That's most likely what it was. Sega saw the sales of Sonic The Hedgehog and the sales of Alex Kidd In Enchanted Castle and decided to drop Alex who wasn't selling nearly as much as Sonic was.
genesis games are so poor compared to the snes, mario world, fzero, donkey kong country 1 2 and 3, starfox, mario kart, a link to the past, chrono trigger and multi console games like street fighter 2 turbo were much superior, snes also had the best sound
@TwistedSpeech Because Sonic ws so successful and cool, and Sega thought that no-one liked Alex Kidd over Mario but people loved Sonic do they ditched Alex and kept Sonic.
@delli620 Yes I have. I thought the Genesis game, Alex Kidd In Enchanted Castle, was a pretty decent game. I thought they could have built on that and made each sequel better, but sadly they just gave up on him which I find really weird. Honestly though, I'm just happy I grew up in the 80s and early 90s with the Sega consoles. Best parts of my childhood were playing games on my Sega Master and Genesis systems. : )
It's funny looking back on it now. Originally Alex Kidd was the rival to Mario. Then the Sega Master System was put to rest and the Sega Genesis came out. All of a sudden Sonic becomes the new rival and mascot of Sega. I just wonder why Alex Kidd faded away and why he never stayed on as the rival mascot of Mario. I've never really been able to find a definitive answer to that question.
@nuxxvonire SHUT THE FUCK UP you didn't know in our old times when we used to play in the PS1 and GENISIS ASSHOLE

@TwistedSpeech ever play alex kidd? I mean he was great on the master system but on the genesis my honest opinion was that he was pretty weak.
