I know the reason for the problem.
Your steering wheel is on the wrong side.

i think you should only trade in the M for another M car

I HATE THIS. My M6 is sitting in my driveway as I type this because it won't allow me to start it. It'll be free to fix but what a pain in the ass. I wish I could just put the key in and fix it like this guy haha.

Typical SHIT german quality, you will suffer endless electrical glitches as well as trim problems on modern BMWs and VWs, they are terrible cars!!!!

In Poland we say BMW Będziesz miał wydatki witch stands for you will be have expenses. Have you tried in service and asking for a cost?

Mmmm, now I know the answer I always wondered about :)
Thanks a lot.
and the rev limiter thing - clever! one thing I hate about letting friends try out the 335i - "hey, the turbos kick in way too late, don't they?" - yes, revving it like mad when it's cold really helps :/
and the warranty thing - if you're into tinkering with the car, there's nothing to void then :D
I like the limiter thing on the rev counter going up to 6k because the engine is cold. or is it the 400hp limit for "normaln driving" ?
if you turn it from 400 to 507 and the engine is well heated up - does it move to higher revs - or how does the horsepower limiter work on the M5 ? :)

All M-cars now have this feature, it restricts revs until the engine has reached normal operating temperature to prevent damage from over-revving whilst oil & engine cold.
Both P400 (400bhp mode) & P500 (507bhp) mode have this. Once the engine is warm the full rev range is available in P400 & P500 mode with the redline at 8250rpm.
The throttle bodies are electronically controlled to limit the power down to 400bhp. In P400 the throttle bodies are only about 80% open hence reducing power output.

Thank god for warranties! The problem I now have is my warranty expires Dec 2008 so I don't know whether to trade it in for a newer model or pay to extend the warranty.
