The Known Universe takes viewers from the Himalayas through our atmosphere and the inky black of space to the afterglow of the Big Bang. Every star, planet, and quasar seen in the film is possible because of the world's most complete four-dimensional map of the universe, the Digital Universe Atlas that is maintained and updated by astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History. The new film, created by the Museum, is part of an exhibition, Visions of the Cosmos: From the Milky Ocean to an Evolving Universe, at the Rubin Museum of Art in Manhattan through May 2010.

Are you really suggesting that the entire human race was spawned by 2 people?

There are many Earth-like planets out there. Planets that can hold life. However it is the level of complexity of life on those planets that is the question, there can be none or to a complex biology like our own. If your talking about single-cellular organims like bacteria that it's plausible and perhaps likely. If your talking about multi-cellular organisms, than its possible but unlikely. If your talking about sapient life forms; highly intelligent beings like us, than perhaps extremely rare.

No, its us misidentifying our ancestors as more than they really were, storytellers.

I know, right. Redundant absurdities? Seems to be our purpose mostly.

Actually no... They had clear understanding as to what ''Aliens" were. That word is used several times in many ancient texts, including the Bible. One of which, "I was an Alien in this land..." was said when Paul was visiting a neighboring city. They knew what aliens were, foreign things that probably don't belong. They knew the difference.
