Sounds like your mother doesn't care about the actual impact of the argument. "I win" might make you feel good, but did you actually make the situation better? (This comment was made without knowing the context of your conversation).

  • @japandata Angry, yes, white, yes, making a argument, no

  • @vsnips My folks always said that the first person to react out of anger loses the argument. You sound like an angry white man whose lost the argument.

  • Robert Reich=sich einschleimen

  • It's not written in English because they have been too busy selling it to third-world socialists!

  • I agree with what you said about the Supreme Court! I'd think you'd enjoy the video at, /watch?v=7u1S3C5yWjc&feature=related

For objectivity, I'd add that in natural & social science studies, objectivity refers to the capacity to investigate something 'warts 'n all.' Something Palin would never do.

I was thinking, on top of suspending habeas corpus & spying without search warrants, the taxpayer funded "bail outs" of failing institutions may run afoul with the Constitution. Just thinking...

  • As for the "Credit freeze example". I can't understand why you would insult the wonderful fact of a veritable sea of 100's of millions of ready made suckers. Now matter how you cut it - that's what you believe. They're all very RESPONSIBLE and ripe for the picking, whatever your game. Politics, commerce, or religion. Whether you move to the Left or Right. You've got plenty to blame. Republican: Someone who stands next to people with money and says what they want to hear.
  • In our country there is the wide-spread fear that another Right Wing addition to the Supreme Court will tilt the balance sufficiently to over-turn Roe v. Wade. This is, overall, the worst Supreme Court we have ever had. The tell tale sign of any true Right Wing leaning person is their inability to conceptualize the concept of "Objective". Thus, no real justice is possible from these guys. People who understand that idea are called "Elitists". People who do not are called "Right Wing".
  • That's alright. It's pretty hard to debate on YouTube.

You're right about the Constitution (to protect the basics). Yet, in your country, there is only one conservative (religious zealot) appointment to the Supreme Court in it to overturn Roe V Wade.

As for your credit freeze example, politicians the world over are all telling people what they want to hear & not what they *need* to hear. Bank CEO's always get blamed, but what about the idiots that took the loans out in the first place?

  • The word "sucker" is not supposed to be at the end of my last comment. It is a piece of a deletion that I didn't notice had remained behind. Sorry. As for Pandering without principle, that's why we have a Constitution and a Supreme Court - to mitigate against such excess. I do disagree on why the world will end. It will end because the temptation to divide the populace for votes, will tear us apart. Recent economics happened because we fought over the steering wheel until things crashed.
