For objectivity, I'd add that in natural & social science studies, objectivity refers to the capacity to investigate something 'warts 'n all.' Something Palin would never do.
I was thinking, on top of suspending habeas corpus & spying without search warrants, the taxpayer funded "bail outs" of failing institutions may run afoul with the Constitution. Just thinking...

You're right about the Constitution (to protect the basics). Yet, in your country, there is only one conservative (religious zealot) appointment to the Supreme Court in it to overturn Roe V Wade.
As for your credit freeze example, politicians the world over are all telling people what they want to hear & not what they *need* to hear. Bank CEO's always get blamed, but what about the idiots that took the loans out in the first place?
