  • Always nice to see rc pilots, with only the slightest idea of how a plane flies, but trying to build something that looks scale and therefor "should" fly.

  • It was an Autogyro! tip jets were only used to land and take off vertically. watch the real footage and see how the rotors are tipped back in forward flight.

  • Well done to that pilot ,omg! that modell was so unstable .

  • @acharad It was a cross-over. The tip-jets were deactivated during normal flight, making it the world's largest autogyro at the time.

  • @biggayal1992

Its not a helicopter, ita a Gyroplane, it says so in the video title

  • My god the blades are bending up causing it ot pitch..LMAO.... Grat build..:) Great piloting....Seriously...:)

  • 3D+3WD RotoDyne !!!!

    great !!

  • I praise your efforts, but it looks to be the most unstable aircraft of all time!

  • credits for the attempt and the hours spent in the basement!

My guess is the damping surfaces of rudder and elevator must be made much bigger than scale. Plus, add some gyros to keep it stabilized better

  • Um... did you actually research how the original Rotodyne worked? Wasn't it supposed to take off vertically?

  • FAIL!...
