Williamsburg "protest"

August 16 making the streets safe for grownups with glowsticks and kazoos.

Video clips shot between 11:00-11:30pm, though it had been going on for hours before this down the block, and the police helicopters had JUST stopped flying overhead. They were in this intersection for about 10 minutes before tape started.

Highlights: chants of "Panda". Couldn't make out what they were saying that night. I actually thought it was "Attica" but I doubt any of these people would know what that was.

"Go back to Ohio" when someone shouted "shut up."

Attacking a car trying to get through the intersection. It's not a party till someone tries to get run over by a car.

Yelling "don't litter" and "litterbug" at the cop who accidentally toppled the garbage can when removing it from the intersection.

The earnest young woman getting the litterbug's badge number.

The nice man who picked up the garbage. Thank you.

The cops just standing there as the crowd takes to the street again 500 feet down the road. They don't leave until they get a call about a disturbance a few blocks up.

i remember that night, very well. i remember hearing them chant "our streets" ... YOUR streets? I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN GREENPOINT, you morons came in from ohio and iowa, montana, and other states that you only hear about in 5th grade geography. go back to milking cows, and get off OUR streets, OUR AS IN ALL OF US REAL GREENPOINT/WILLIAMSBURGERS

The long time residents of these working class areas are routinely disturbed by the drunken antics of these assholes.

Our young children are woken up in the middle of the night because these trust fund babies decide to walk down the street singing at 2am.

This type of "events" are an affront to all the hard working residents that have jobs
