But you clearly said you need a quite strong hit for create enough energy. But maybe It would be appliable Inside a laptop for save energy... Since sometime with long period usage laptops but also cases can overhit can get pretty hot, you can convert part of the hit in free power and make the battery last longer.. Not sure it make much sense... But anyway i believe there are reasons why this kind of energy convertion isnt much in use.

now you're getting the idea :-) yeah, using a peltier for energy isn't really practical, so i don't see it ever being a viable means to create sustainable energy. a better use for it is using it in reverse: if you feed it a current, once side of it gets hot while the other gets cold, so it'd be perfect for making a solar powered iceless cooler. that'll most likely be a future Tinkernut project :-)

Its ok if you put it on the "hacker spirit", nothing against it, but dont talk about energy resourches as burning a fuel candle is better than plugging the charger in a normal plug, and anyway nowdays is not that hard to find dinamo chargers or solar chargers for phone. I even heard about a sintetic jacket that can store a little ammount of static electricity for recharge a battery thanks normal daily routine movements.

I remember my sister got a flashlight that have some dinamo inside, where

a phone charger is just the example i used because it relates this old technology to a newer generation, so forget the end product of the video because that's not the point. and the point has nothing to do with burning fuels, the point is converting excess heat into energy. i just used candles for this project, but any heat source will do. you can use body heat, you can use the sun, you can go the opposite route and use extreme cold and letting the contrast heat up the other side.

People are asking why pay 55 dollars instead of 5 - 10 dollars for a regular phone charger. I'll give you a why to do this: Because electricity costs money. You have to taker the phone charger then put it in the power outlet, right?

This method uses a electricity source, and outlets use a electricity source.
