NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania, August 5, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Mr. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), issued the following statement on August 1, 2008 in Nouakchott at the conclusion of his visit to Mauritania:




"It has been a great pleasure to visit Mauritania. I wish to thank the President, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi for the warm hospitality extended by the Mauritanian government to participants in the seminar for African Governors of the IMF and the World Bank.

    Prices in Mauritania are actually HIGH on European standards.

  • asperin you are exactly right, and Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein is a history book of the most recent coups economic and military supported by the US government in the past 40 to 50 years. Good post.

    With all the numbers of people against the government we could walk to Washington and pick the congressmen and senators like garbage and put them in the curb.

    We don't realize how much we are and how powerful we are. We should.
