Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton commemorates the 44th anniversary of the death of civil rights workers Andrew Goodman, James Chaney and Michael Schwerner in Philadelphia, Mississippi. The three young men were working to register voters and secure civil rights during the "Freedom Summer" of 1964.

  • How about some recognition for Mrs. Hamer? ""A servant of God and his angels" and valiant freedom fighter!!

  • Typical bureaucratic subterfuge. Here these self-important blow hards are discussing events of nearly 50 years ago, while the nation is sliding into recession, gas prices going through the roof etc. It's the epitome of Rome burning and these twits are playing fiddle.
