It's Suikawari time!!!! \^O^/
During a barbeque with the host families, we were introduced to a game called 西瓜割, or Suikawari. It literally means "watermelon splitting", and is a traditional Japanese summertime game that involves splitting a watermelon with a stick while blindfolded. The rules are similar to piñata: A watermelon is laid out and participants one by one attempt to smash it open. Each is blindfolded, spun around, and then given the wooden stick to hit it. The first to crack the watermelon open wins. Afterwards the chunks of watermelon produced are shared among participants. (courtesy of Wikipedia, and Yui for telling me the name of the game!)
