Marvelous filmed performance, directed by Barrie Gavin in 1995 from the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and chorus conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. Faye Robinson (soprano), Cynthia Clarey (mezzo-soprano), Philip Langridge (tenor) and Benjamin Luxon (bass).

Mr Tippett, I enjoy this. i have played your double String Orchestra int he past (1999). I enjoyed it emmensely as such a young violinist. I look forward to your next compositions that hit just as hard.

Thank you Andrew - a most telling illustration of Tippett's heartfelt musical language. I am sure through the efforts of people like you Sir Michael's work might via this medium be lit more brightly!
