This 28 year old man (name withheld) was transferred to this invalid facility (name withheld) from the Torez facility in a "parcel cardboard box". He was 20 or 21, weighed 17 kilos at the time, could not walk, talk, feed himself, or use the restroom. The 'new' facility staff were appalled that anyone would transfer a person in a BOX. After a year of intensive physical therapy, he is able to walk, and feed himself, and usually gets to the restroom in time. He is NOW 28 yrs. old, and weighs 34 kilos. Caregivers were told from the staff of 'Torez', he is 'retarded, can't walk or talk'. After further testing, at the new facility, it was shown that he is deaf, and the only mental retardation is from lack of development stimulation for so many years. We are VERY thankful for this transfer (and the new facility is WONDERFUL), but one can only wonder just what kind of life he would have had if proper diagnosis and treatment would have been given earlier in his life.

  • @xThePaleBella - yeah, it is pretty incredible that he lived as long as he did, and then to be transported to the 'new' facility at age 20 or so, and to do that in a box, no dignity, no care; incredible that any person would think that this was 'o.k.' and get this, the ppl who did this, still are 'working' at the place, and providing "care" for children with disabilities. I WILL NOT STOP until these children receive justice.!

  • Parcel cardboard box?! This infuriates me!!! My heart breaks for all the people who have special needs that are discarded like trash!!! I have an older brother with Down syndrome and cannot imagine him being 'thrown away' in mental institution. I'm definitely helping your wonderful ministry! xxxooo
