At the head of every family is a Don, then below him an Underboss and a 'Consigliere' (Counsellor/Advisor), then Capos (Captains) who head up their own crews of soldiers. Anyone referred to by the title of Don in the film is the boss of a family, so Don Corleone, Don Cuneo, Don Stracci and so on.
