For some reason, people listen to other music now

Porter Wagoner was a decent and nice man. I worked with and met him once, in the mid 1980's on a promotional video with his all girl band that later went on to be the all female group Wild Rose. Those ladies were some of the best musicians I ever heard.

If you ever met or saw this man in person; count yourself lucky. You were in the presence of the greatest entertainer that country music has or ever will know. Porter Wagoner could work a crowd like no one in the business. I still miss you everyday Porter Wagoner.

Gotta give the Letterman show credit, they always have really good choices for musical guests, often purely on the merit of their artistic talent. Tom Waits, Steve Earl, Nick Cave, Neko Case, Fleet Foxes. Outstanding performance by a monumental legend.
