  • I laughed my ass off when I read this. You're telling Steve Howe he's playing it wrong. My God.

  • My absolute favorite guitarist, and the best.

  • guys hes not playing it wrong, i think you are all waiting to here wakeman here :P But what hes doing is just the guitar part..

  • Helicon2112 is right - this is a different version of this lick and NOT the same note-for-note as the studio version from Fragile. This is how Steve Howe has been playing it on tour later in his career starting in the late 1980s. But it's definitely not "wrong," it's just different. Perhaps Howe decided he didn't like the original version and changed it more to his liking as the years went on. I actually like this version better than the studio version.

  • @Helicon2112 Don't know what the fellow said, but Steve definitely is not playing it the same way as on his album. Now, of course this is Steve Howe playing the part, but is he playing it exactly as he played it on the album? No. Listen up and see.

  • thanks for the lesson

  • @novadrian You are right about the masterworks and indeed the self indulgence of Tales, but they did find the old magic on Going for the one. Awaken is up there with the best and I would consider Turn Of The Century to be the apogee of the lyrical genius of Yes. Pity about Tormato!

  • @novadrian Tales is their Magnus Opus.

  • @novadrian I saw Yes at the Ryman in Nashville...and Chris Squire said to the PACKED house..."Here we are on the stage of the Mother Church of Country Music...and we can't seem to get even nominated for the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame!"

the crowd enthusiastically agreed. it seems you have to be some shoe-staring, hate-spewing, angst-ridden addict, riding a rollercoaster to self-destruction to get noticed by the chimps at the HOF...

Run DMC, Gangsta Flash, ABBA for God's sake, and not YES or ELP?

  • FUCK! Have I been playing it wrong this whole time!

  • @novadrian FOB=FallOut Boy. Enough said!

  • @bent139 Thanks for the reply. Who or what are FOB? I doubt there's any conspiracy. It'sjust that any association with prog. rock is now treated with disdain. As I said though, Yes didn't just have the musicianship but great tunes. Cheers.
