May 2011 - A grade 10 Study student returned from the 2011 INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, taking home second place in the environmental sciences category. Her project, featured here, is entitled "Embrace the air with algae repair," and addresses how CO2 emissions could be reduced, using algae. This same project allowed her to qualify for the prestigious INTEL competition at the Montreal Regional Science and Technology Fair.
At INTEL fair, she competed as a world finalist among 1600 other participants and 1000 projects. In addition, she received an honour from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), naming an asteroid after her.
