  • The Cubs need to bring a Caray back to the booth (Chip Caray). The announcers now suck!

  • I agree with you but I would bet that's not going to happen.

  • yeah, and it all started on the southside! Go Sox!

  • Actually, it all started in the Garden Of Eden, but that's another story. Nothing good ever starts on the South side of Chicago.

  • ok... but Harry Caray really did start singing "take me out to the ballgame" during the seventh inning streach when he was a White Sox broadcaster. You can't deny that.

  • Nope, I can't deny that. He just meant more to the Cubs and their fans than the Sox. God bless you Harry!

  • some of my best childhood memories are of my grandpa taking me to see cubs baseball games. our favorite part of the game was when harry caray would do the 7th inning stretch. nothing can beat being around other fans, singing/yelling "take me out to the ball game". some of the best times of my life. no one will ever be able to take harry's place. he was, is, and forever will be the best!!!

  • It's videos like this that make the Chicago Cubs, while futile, far different from other MLB teams. Wrigley Field is one of a kind. The fan base is like non other in pro sports. Utter commitment to the team, for life. It's more than a sport to Cubs fans. It's our lifestyle and that's something worth far more than 10 World Series championships in my opinion!

  • @sxsder24 It actually all started In St. Louis, as a Cubs fan I take Pride in knowing the whole history of a Legend.

  • the commercial voice-over is, i THINK, David Doyle, of Charlie's Angels fame.

  • @ChiSox2386 -- actually, he started w/ the Cardinals, and the old St. Louis Browns, way back in 1945.

  • Harry was the best. I could always tell he was drinking some cold ones during the game.

  • i'm born and raised in southern california . . . but i've been a cub fan all my life (loved ernie banks!!) . . . when harry died i got choked up for days . . . if you loved the cubs, you loved harry . . . i'm not looking forward to vin scully's last game . . . his voice has been the soundtrack for southern california summers for 50 years . . .
