My friend Vincenzo Culotta interpreting my "Eminem Fugato".

A fugato is similar to a fugue (same imitation principle) but has less structural obligations and consequently leaves more space to 'divertimenti'. These 'divertimenti' are usually based on material derived from subject and countersubject.

In this piece the head of the subject and the bass line of the final pedal are taken from Eminem's "Without me"

  • I'm having the phase thing happen; I'm hearing the upbeat of 1 as the downbeat of the bar. OMG. Sounds so interesting.

  • @Borysculus Good old Domenico isn't the most catching example of this type of counterpoint. Actually it's more like Bach with modern influences but without the little surprises from the genius. Still a beautiful composition and performed in a very well-balanced way. Bravo both of you!
