The Russell's Viper, Daboia Russelii is responsible for a large number of snakebite envenomation mortalities each year in Southeast Asia. The isolated populations of Russell's Viper in Sri Lanka have neurotoxic, as well as haemotoxic, qualities to their venom, unlike populations on the Asian mainlands.

  • These snakes are common in the hill country where i go regularly. The locals have a zero tolerance policy. Kill vipers on sight. But they leave cobras alone as they believe they are sacred

  • This is a dangerous viper.Wild Russell's vipers can be quite aggressive when dense.Their fangs are also effective. We have this species here but the average size is smaller than the Indian one.

  • it was very informative but the camera guy sucked

  • i remember steve leonard putting one drop of venom in cup of blood, the blood was like set jelly in a few seconds, lethal.

this has to be the number one?

  • Its awesome that people are willing to put them selves at risk in order to help injured creatures no matter how deadly they are.
