this is my dad who flys in Venezuela as a bush pilot for medical service. Its a non profit organization called AMA (Adventist Medical Aviation)
he is taking off of a short down hill runway and he is at gross wieght, half tanks of fuel, 4 passengers, and lots of baggage. He is flying a C-182 no stol kit no wing extentions just straight plane. when he leaves the ground its at 45 MPH (stall speed is 65 MPH) he uses ground effect with flaps to leave the ground and cleans the flaps as he picks up spead. Amazing flying!

  • @cgifly2 I admire your witty trollsmanship, but you don't have to be such a rancid pile of dried offal scrapings. Sometimes people have to do the best job they can with what they have. I guess you didn't figure that one out did you? The "non profit organization" part must have also slipped your mind. I'm sure you are a respectable fellow, but that was fairly pestilent of you to comment about.

In America, we often refer to unappreciative people like you as "assholes". Good day to you!

  • @davidgeorge31 Great point, as pilots we can pick at things that don't seem right to us, in fact i was looking at things he could have done better too, but what's the point of feeding our already massive ego's by bashing this guy's dad. I think that every takeoff that equals a landing is the one absolute in flying.

  • good way to get everyone killed. I wonder if the people that have to clean up the plane wreckage are non profit?

  • Oh, yes, I do see that the flaps were deployed: Way late in the take off. Reviewing the video, I see where that plane was totally on the "edge of crashing"!! It was moving/climbing like it was balanced on the tip of a pole! I would agree, with those who said it was a terrible example of a short field - soft field - heavily loaded takeoff. The guy "driving" was just "hanging on for dear life" Literally. In over 30 years of flying, this was one of the worst examples of "airmanship".

  • @mmichaeldonavon Looks like the flaps extended about halfway down the runway.

  • you'r dad is great pilot)

  • There is no bad pilot, there is not enough whiskey ?!!!

  • the guy is missing in the jungle since feb 09, toghether with six pax onboard,....maybe his son ,the uploader, should update the info on his dads vids....just saying

  • What an idiot.

  • That was pretty amazing, and I don't know shit about flying. It looked like he was too heavy and too slow. But he made it and that all that counts.

  • There were NO flaps deployed for this takeoff; sorry charlie. Did I see some flaps later on in the climb out? Maybe? N-6395T

  • Keep it up with the great videos, next time we'll have a crash to watch!
