Ok since it appears some people have nothing better to do then look up videos on the internet and try to look smart I'm going to say this for the last time. This show was in the WINTER. It was SNOWING. All the outdoor rings (and there are 6 outdoors at this show grounds) were FROZEN. The show office very specifically took this break for people to lunge and school in the indoor. The indoor that also happens to be 81,000 sq ft and more then capable of handling it. I've done flat classes with 40 people in them in here. And I was the 3rd or 4th person lunging in here on top of that because *I repeat* that was kinda the whole point. In my opinion, if you are so unaware of your surroundings that you could canter on the wrong lead strait into a lunging circle, you should not be at a horse show in the first place. Her's and my horse saved her butt. If either of those horses had not stopped someone could have gotten hurt.

  • @XoJumpBigoX it is common courtesy and ring etiquette to lunge in the center since riders will typically want to ride on the rail. that way nobody has to constantly adjust their course to avoid someone else

  • also, check your prize list or talk to a show secretary if you don't know where designated lunging areas are. usually they have this printed in the prize book/list you get in the mail, or posted somewhere on the show grounds. Every prize list I've ever seen in my 16 years of showing, as well as every showground has it posted somewhere where you can lunge your horse... that is to prevent situations like this from ever happening.

  • @ssed2014 I'm pretty sick of having to repeat myself ten billion times to people trying to look like they know everything. This show was in late December, it was snowing outside and everything was frozen. The show office very specifically took this break during the day for people to lunge and school in the indoor area, which is 81,000 sq ft and seats over 5000 people. It's huge. There was more then enough space and I was not the only lunger, since again, that was the whole point.

  • sry for my bad englisch ;)

But in my opinion it was her fault and not your´s. If you are lunging your horse in the circle and she rides straight to you and didn´t care about you and your horse, than it´s her fault and not your´s.

  • Trust the dosey americans..

  • Well someone wasn't paying attention, had she been aware of the arena she never would have come anywhere near you. How many times had she gone by you, seeing you lunging?!? Some people are just dumb...good job to the horses that saved her butt.

  • It's kinda funny because I can tell it's December 'cause of the X-mas music in the backround

  • I wish i can find a video withouth people thinking they n=know better!

  • URg i hate it when you are trying to lunge and other friggin people go and mess up your lungeing! (i dont think i spelled lunge right but oh well) I also hate it when during a lesson your using one side of the arena and a arena newbie comes while your trying to canter and they mess up your horses anter cuz they dont know any arena manners! Urg i hate tht... oh well i guess they all learn someday :)

  • omg this happens to me ALL the time when i'm lungeing my gelding (who was not gelded right lolol) the ring is like sooooo freaking crowded but if i don't lunge him he'll be wacko. lol i feel your pain

  • and the girl on the grey horse ran into the horse that was being lunged because....??

  • Ah, well, poop happens. You're completely right, and the inexperienced rider was definitely overwhelmed/over-horsed at that moment. Horses were on the ball, as usual. Glad everyone was okay. Schooling rings have to be ridden according to strict codes of etiquette. Hope the inexp. rider learned her lesson.

  • @Pepper9873 Well people have different thoughts and opinions.
