i have gotten requests for tips on how to prevent the typical gaining of weight as men transition into female metabolisms. You will have to change a lot of things about what, how and when you eat.

  • the background TV or video noise was distracting....

  • Even though I just started posting here, I've been conscious of the weight thing for a while. Last year, I weighed 300 lbs, so I was big. What I did was surprisingly similar to you. I took what I would normally eat. I would imagine it in my head and then take half of that. I was still healthy; in fact, my health vastly improved. My pulse dropped from like 80 to 60. I stopped drinking pop for a long time and lost even more weight. Now, I weight 220. 80 lbs in one year is pretty good.

  • @bananabread119 Not going to answer that specific question, but I find the TrueSelves forums to be quite useful for transitioners of any age or direction.

  • @90pokeman One thing I would watch out for is muscle gain.

Eat healthy, don't pig out, stick to cardio (running) and no weights.

    Drink plenty of water.

I'm 21 and just joined the gym. This is going to be my process.

  • about the weight watching... im 14 and have a "slight" gut (though i guess its pre-growth spurt?). how would you suggest i get rid of it in 4 years if it doesnt turn into growth? oh, and i am VERY active sport-wise: water polo, swimming, and lacrosse. oh, and im a male. for now.

  • i lost 50 lbs in 8 months. on hormones. i get my primary protein from beans i avoid most simple starches an boosted veg an fruit intake. my big calorie pitfalls were liquids.Had to work on portioning am not eating when i was bored..water helps me on that.

  • @AliAliDillyDally I also cut down my meat intake by a lot. I try not to eat more than a playing card worth of meat each meal--if I eat any meat at all. I focus on eating more vegetables than anything else. We Americans love our meat, but we really don't need much. Meat is full of calories and our bodies just use it as filler because vegetables don't give us enough energy.

  • again, why?

  • I think I might need to GAIN the fattiness... I am 110 lbs and 16 yrs old so I know that I will not have a high metabolism forever, but why not take advantage of it now right?

  • yeah im going to take theses tips but im super skinny so i dont think i could lose weight which suxs cus i have no ass lol. im 5.11 and 106lbs

  • I NEED the transition weight.
