Stevens' hits were clean, but he did play to injure other players.
I couldn't believe in one interview where he said "I don't know when guys are skating with their head down". Anybody who's played hockey knows when somebody is skating with their head down.

@SoloAxe I see you are attempting to change your tune to a degree however, in the end you cant help yourself. Steven was known as an open-ice body checker. He was not known as a head-shot player. All one has to do is watch video. As stated, Lindors compilation video shows a player deliberately trying to hurt people, especially with the boards and ice. Try as you might, you somply cant win because you deny the facts.

@bbmtge The only two hits from Stevens I can think of are the Lindros and Kariya hits and both would definitively be deemed hits to the head by today's standards and the Kariya one was way late too. If you don't think so your confused as to what the are calling in the game today. Bottom line the NHL wants to stop people from permanently injuring guys with head shots, which is what Stevens was known for.
