Metropolis is a German silent film directed by Fritz Lange. Released in 1927, Metropolis is a story about the miss treatment of the working class in a futuristic city. When the son of the cities leader witnesses the horrors that the working class undergoes, he decides to confront his father and put an end to the miss treatment.

one of the greatest movies ever made.. honestly. i love the way silent films express the feelings of the characters through motion and action rather than souly on speech. i'm a Graphic novelist and this is one of my greatest references. :)

I have seen different versions of the film. I recently bought the complete Metropolis on Blu-Ray. Finally, I understand the entire story. It's a work of genius. The new recording of the original soundtrack is wonderful.

i watch this movie and wonder how gottfried huppertz was never as hugely famous a composer as he should have been.

There's a reference to this movie in COD Black Ops Zombie mode in the movie theatre map, there's posters for this movie everywhere.

just bought and saw the restored version yesterday and finally it all makes sense, now featuring the lost scenes and original score...what an epic.

this is art, and nowadays more than ever.

I own both the Fritz Lang Metropolis and the Anime remake. Both are amazing. Their soundtracks are almost half of their incredible stories.

@rubyGAlight The "Masters of Cinema" release has this music, it also has amazing restored scenes that were cut from the other versions of the film, such as The Seven Deadly Sins parts and a lot of The Mad Inventor's backstory/motivation. That's the version I have. It's expensive but it's worth it : D
