  • Hi tlt296. At 1.15 this is the West End of Tumbledown. In fact you are looking directly at G Companies objective for the attack and the crags behind are what Left flank had to take. This photo was taken from the exact same position that we advanced that night from our FUP behind Goats Ridge. The peak you can see to the right is Mount William which was the Gurkhas objective. They were advancing just to the left of us and kept to the North of Tumbledown so as to keep out of our way.

  • @phil8188 Thank you! The Falklands campaign gave back this country's self respect. I will never forget what you people did.

  • @kingsweeting, really? thats cool! how do you know its your dad?

  • Great tune. The British lost in the Falklands are often forgotten amid the grief for the fallen in 1914-18 and 1939-45, but they were as brave and as heroic. Colonel H and his men are true heroes. Bless all of you that stepped foot on those islands. RIP. They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old, age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

  • At 1:15, is that two sisters?

  • The tempo at the beginning is slower to represent the loss of the islands to the Argentines. The upbeat later at the quicker tempo represents the battle, and regaining of the islands by British forces.

  • I, like many served in the Falklands, whilst i was there this tune was regarded as the un-official anthem of the Falkland islands. I have spent 28 years trying to hunt this down ! thank yoy !

  • fantastic tune my dad was on tumbledown 2bt scotts

  • Wonderful tune.
