VERY BAD RIDERS !!!!! How can you treat your horses this way ???
-
And not the prettiest horse wins a pleasure competition (; We took a rat tailed, scar kneed Appaloosa to state last year and he came back a champion . No fake tail . A little silver on his bridle and saddle (We do have to make SOME form of effort to look nice..) but the judge picked him because he never broke stride, he never tensed up and because he actually enjoys his job .

And as to the holes in his side comment ; they are WAY too high to be from spurs unless it was a toddler spurring him . It could be a scar from anything, but it is definitely not spurs . We had a big pleasure gelding who had the same thing because he leaned into a nail or something like that when he was a yearling . It healed up and he turned out to be a state champion pleasure horse and AQHA World qualifier .

Forcing the horse INTO the wall is not helpful, and for him to be punished for it was unacceptable . Just like in a car, a horse has a stopping distance . If the rider would've asked him to stop 1 or 2 seconds earlier, the horse probably would've been able to stop in time . If you slid into a wall, you're going to move away from it, not just sit there . Everything else seems fine . But purposely sliding him into a wall is ridiculous .

@Jenny50ify you are a idiot now repeat after me I am a complete idiot who hates what's good for the horse. now slap you're self for saying that.

AND, any reiner or rider would know that you do not spur your horse way up halfway on the barrel. LOL. For collection and lateral work you are always working from under. Therefore those are not "spur holes".
Frankly this horse and rider combo are amazing!

And also, reining has proven to be the best western discipline for the horse. I've showed in games, pleasure, and a bit of reining. Pleasure is all a sham of getting the horse to go in gaits unnatural like the 4 beat lope. The person with the most bling and best looking horse wins - tail extensions and all. Games is more beneficial to the rider than the horse - simple. Reining focuses on the horse WILLING to listen to the rider on such a loose rein. Top reining horses don't pin ears or swish.

I do NOT see what the problem is here. Do any of you even rein? One very practiced method of learning sliding stops is to run them into a wall and stop. In my lessons we are always working straight lines to the wall because the horse needs to listen and trust the rider. When the horse in this video decided to go left after the straight line without the riders consent, he did a turn on the haunches to the right, exactly how I was taught. PLEASE check your facts people.

i dont know anything about reinin but this horse looks so uncomfortable
It just makes me sick to see a horse this sad screaming for help with is eyes, doing EVERYTHING his rider is asking him to, just to get beat in the mouth, you can tell he is in sooo much pain.

Can the stewards and other riders not see how truly terrified this horse is? It breaks my heart to see the pain in this horse's eyes. He is silently screaming for help. Shame on these riders--they must truly have no hearts at all to perform such cruelty.
