  • Still love this bike!! I don't commute with it anymore. I don't need it for commuting because I've moved. I do use it whenever I go on trips. I'm always amazed at how fast and comfortable it is, and it fits in the trunk with the rest of the luggage. Almost 5K miles and still on original tire (they are pretty bald).

The stem is a modified UNO adjustable (replaced bold with QR seat bolt and washer). For more info on the stem and such, check out bikeforums, in the folding bikes section.

  • Why does everybody care about how fast it folds...I just wanna know how it rides and how Fast it rides

  • @dicksonaaron

I was mainly showing how it folds. However it's nice to have a bike that folds faster than you can lock it :D.

So far I have nearly 4000 miles on my Curve. It rides great and is fast. It's been the best folder I have owned.

To Date: Longest nonstop ride 65 miles on the curve, most miles in one day about 80. Still on the original tires, but they are bald. I can average around 17 mph most of the time on the curve. I'm in fair shape.

  • I dunno I prefer the presto lite 2005 and 2006model. Way lighter then the curve SL.

  • @95thRiflesOCI

Seems like Dahon never sticks to one model. Now they've been through several forms of the Curve. When they probably should have just refined the presto. I looked for a presto when I bought mine in 07 and they were hard to find then.

    Take care.

  • No, the stem is not stock. It's a regular adjustable ahead stem I have clamped onto the post. I think the brand in UNO. I have added a quick release to the adjustment section and filed it alittle so that it will go up farther. It works very well.

    2000 miles and counting.

This is a fantastic mod. Clan you please provide some details (maybe make a vid for dummies!) on how to replace the bolt for a quick release and whatnot? Many thanks!

  • @vRidge

Would you please find out the exact model of this stem? I could certainly use more reach in my folding bike!!

  • @vRidge how much does it cost...Im thinking about getting one to go back and forward to college...whats a good site to get them from

  • @vRidge

Ya they were hard to find. I manage to snag about 2. The ones with carbon fiber handle bars and not adjustable stems which were the lightest I think. My brother rides a curve forgot which model but it's red. It's decent for $400 but doesn't have the component grade as the presto and weighs like a brick!
