@dawg9 they lost, i think, because they removed pieces from the plane to make it lighter. Then lockheed just showed them up by doing a take off in 500feet, going supersonic, then doing a transition to vertical landing all in one flight. They really didn't need to do it, but that test i think won the competition. (it is on another part of this same video)
Remember, the miliary doesn't care if they used existing technology (its considered cost savings).

What a joke of a post. The x35 used existing technology from the f22? I hope you mean the integrated sensor suites. Want to talk about using existing technology? How bout the x32 used the same damn direct lift technology as the harrier. Why do you think they lost?

i searched nasa and came up with this series, good videos anyway.:D x-32 is awesome, x-35 used existing technology from f-22..
God that thing was ugly at first.
