Basic M1 Genesis Mods

I do some basic mods to one of the Genesis Model 1 systems I just picked up. They all worked except this one was a little beat up on the top and the LED didn't light up. So I figured I should change the LED with one I had lying around and while I had it open do a few other things to it. These are pretty simple so anyone should be able to do them.

What kind of Sandpaper do you use to sand a console before you paint it?

My Model 1 SEGA Genesis needs a Minor Paint Job.

@Riddler95 I have something really fine like maybe 1000 grit. Just enough to scuff it up and clean off anything stuck on the plastic.

subcribed ty!!! i love seeing stuff like this i loved the nintendo/sega war back in the 90s now that im older i went back and started picking up stuff for my collection. id have to say its alot more better to get like 10/15 games for the older consoles than it is buying a new game for the current gens lol

@Nonexistanthuman Sounds like me I grew up all Nintendo and hated Genesis back in the day but then just about 4 years ago I started collecting all the old stuff again and I really got into the Genesis.

wow.. nice work on the corners,, i remember as a kid just stabbing my mega drive with a chisel to snap those corners off,, made my md rattle,, hey but it played Japanese games.

@UNAL0504 Mabye it got damp, Something short circuited, mabye you need to change the fuze or replace the plug? Try replacing the fuze, if not then get another plug.
