P.S. I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to see Herb and Lani play at Blues Alley in Georgetown Washington DC 12 May 2008. The show was absolutely spectacular. After all these years, they both still have it: the skills and the love. Truly a remarkable show. Herb and Lani, thanks to all of the wonderful years of warming our hearts with your great art work. You both are truly blessed as well as I was at your show.

Yes it is. The hip-hop group Tres Deliquentes borrowed the short verse. This song was very popular in the Hispanic community throughout the 1960's. I think he's Jewish and raised in East Los Angles.

It sounds exactly like the recording I had. I forget whether that was reel to reel or an LP. It's obvious they didn't record it here in this stadium. The acoustics would have been horrible. They are just dubbing to a studio recording, which is common practice.

The video is interesting, but like many, bullshit (sorry). Anyone can hear that the guitar is done on a medium-stringed hollow-body of some kind, and the vid instead elects to use electric instruments with no cords. But still, mice to see the players's faces!
