The miniseries version was originally shown on the Disney anthology television series and shown again, unedited, in the 1990's on the Disney Channel. I do not own the writes they belong to Walt Disney himself and his company.

  • Gentleman and the wealthy were exempt from the press gangs of the time and it was extremely rare for them to head in land. Usually 'pressing' drunkards in the coastal taverns. For a great movie that deals with Naval press gangs you need to check out 'HMS Defiant' starring Alec Guinness and Dirk Bogart.

  • @ghostofmjackson Well, believe it or not, Patrick McGoohan was born in Astoria, New York, making him an American. I don't think the others are American, but I'm very sure he is.

  • @inkey2 Absolutely! I would love to join you in this endeavor...Maybe we should LOL!

  • @MichaelIanHenry oh totally....as a life long tobacco lover....I would love to sit by the fireplace puffing on some fine tobacco of yester year

  • I always loved this show.....I am curious about the "press gangs". I assume that they never went into wealthy areas and grabbed the rich.....is that correct?

  • @iloveplanetrock

i haven't SEEN an american actor in this yet. even the actor playing an american is english (called tony britton, funnily enough)

  • @MichaelIanHenry --- good luck on your outfit. I admire people who go the extra mile for the sake of authenticity. I'm not certain, but one should be able to find a churchwarden somewhere (in fact, a renaissance faire would be a good place to look).

  • @Setebos Yes Thank you! I couldn't remember what it was called. I still want the pipe though!...LOL Im an olde renassaince faire goer from way back lol. Im trying to work on a colonial outfit at the moment again Thank you for your input God bless.

  • @MichaelIanHenry --- I believe it's referred to as a "churchwarden".

  • I thought they Hung out by the Pubs So They were easy Pickings after a Night out with the Boys! The One Fellow is a little off Key! Pretty slick of The scarecrow to Scatter the Men! In his own Church!
