I am a Catholic. The difference between myself and others - 12 years of religious education. So when people are accusing things like this of being, more or less, sheer propaganda against the Church, I become frustrated because its all blown out of proportion.

Galileo agreed to not to teach what he had as a theory as being the truth. His punishment did not come from the Pope, but from bishops. He basically was under house arrest in a beautiful villa. Hardly the torture chamber people like describe.

It's a fictional story, The Vatican itself wrote a review on this movie, all this video does is blow any conflict that may have arised out of proportion. It's a movie/novel, so calm down.

The church has warred against scientific progress and condemned some of the modern invention. They also burned people at the steak for "not seeing things there way". And now, once again the church has been up to abusing children all around the world, 200 deaf kids in Wisconsin, Ireland, and Belgium.

the big bang theory was coined up by catholics ( a Catholic priest working with the vatican) :)

Gregor mendel; a catholic priest was the father of genetics...

Athanasius Kircher; a 17th century german jesuit, founder of microbes.

Francesco Lana de Terzi; another jesuit, known for creating the first technical plans for an airship..

Georg Joseph Kamel ; a jesuit and a botanist who gave his name to the camellia flower.

Why won't the authors of Angels and Demons refute these accusations. I will answer that, because they know they are lying. Trying to gain the whole world while in the process they lose their souls. Its all about gaining the whole world and making money. Its sad that today many make money by corruption and lies.

The Catholic Church seeks the Truth and to that end the Catholic Church developed the scientific method, rules of evidence and the college system. God's gift of intellect should be used to seek His Truth.

The Inquistion was horrible, but the Catholic Church did help the Jews during WWII.

What is a church? An assembly of believers. If the believers making up the assembly are bad, then, the church, by definition is bad. There are plenty of warnings in the New Testament to flee "babylon" and people bringing in "destructive heresies"--you dont just stay around the devil.
